Welcome To Hearing God’s Voice For Yourself Blog
One of the questions I am asked most often is, “How can I hear the voice of God for myself”? So what I am going to share with you is how I learned to hear God’s voice. I am going to share with you some books that God used to teach me, along with the Bible. There
are three books that have probably been the biggest influence on my life.
- The first one was written by Evelyn Christiansen, “Lord Change Me!”
- The second is by Benny Hinn, “Good Morning Holy Spirit.”
- The third is by Madame Guyon, “Experiencing God through Prayer”.
The one thing that I didn’t understand when I first got saved, or even when I first got filled with the Holy Spirit, is how God talks to people. I knew that He talked to us through the Scriptures and through prayer. I also knew that our conscience guided us. But I discovered that He speaks to us in so many other ways!
We must understand how God talks to us and how He sounds, if you will, so that we know when it’s God, when it’s another spirit and when it is us. That’s very important to know. We need to be able to learn how to discern that for ourselves. I want you to understand that it is going to take practice. It’s going to take doing the exercises I’ll be giving you and putting them into practice in your
life on a regular basis. One of the things that we should be able to do, as a Christian, is to be able to hear from God and put into practice what He is saying to us. And sometimes it is simply reading a passage of Scripture where there is a command, and doing it. So what I want you to learn is how to take the Scriptures and get something from God for yourself, and be able to use it in your life.
That is going to be the focus of this blog.
